Unique Art Work, with value beyond value

by Sami Harawi

Alison’s Art is appreciated by those who thrive to discover unique work and who keep exploring it
to find things beyond the surface finish and the appealing colors.

There are Ruzsa fanatic collectors who already own several of her objects and
request the right of refusal on the next one.
I am one of them, and to part with an Alison piece is like a significant loss,
irrespective of the Gallery’s need for a sale.

I heard unusual comments about her Work, the most interesting one is by a
Philadelphia Art Lover and Connoisseur who early on realized
how important and valuable Alison’s Work is.
She owns Gazebo, one of the first major pieces by Alison,
and is in love with it beyond the fact that it quadrupled in value over few years.
I got to know that Art Connoisseur,
and had some of the most interesting art related exchanges with her.
Her passion towards Art Work like Alison’s is partly based on her belief that
an Art piece is not completed till the right person owns it.

Over the years I heard a variety of comments related to favorite art work.
For the Venetian Sculpture, Livio De Marchi, his favorite piece is the one that he has not created yet.
For an Art Dealer, I knew well, his favorite is the one he just sold.
For me it is Work by the top Artists I represent.
A very good Friend and a first class Glass Art Connaisseur
asked me once whose Art Work would I buy if money was not an issue
I surprised her and myself when
I could not think of any other Work than that by the unique Artists I represent

Alison is one of them.
If she continuous with her passion and her patience,
I hope that one day I will have a space at home devoted to her Work.
I will go there to explore and reexplore it,
and complete her task by being the lucky owner of this invaluable Art.

As whimsical as her creations are, the thought process to get there is elaborate
This is illustrated in Absinthe
Absinthe was snatched practically the moment I placed its images on the web
The lucky owner is a pationate Paperweight Collector from the Chicago area
His collection is promised to a very important Museum in Chicago
We still showed it where it at SOFA NY, as a masterpiece to have visibility
Soon after SOFA, a Manhattan Art Collector contacted me and comissioned
an object in the same spirit with Vodka Tasting theme
Strangers connected through great Art Work

What Alison created over the years has appreciated significantly.
Most of her creations were done while helping friends run a hot glass furnace in Brooklyn, NY.
Now she has to pay in order to use the furnace and to anneal those heavy class sculptures

If loving Alison’s Work does not come easily to you, and if what I wrote does not
 trigger in you the Discoverer,
do read her
Statement and description of her Technique.
What may not come through your heart, may come through your brains,
when you learn about the painstaking sequence of events that result in the
creation of a Masterpiece
